Allison Poe is the Senior Director, Government Relations for the Climate Leadership Council, where she leads the organization’s government relations and legislative strategy. Prior to joining the Council, Allison served as the Senior Director of Government Relations for the Edison Electric Institute—the association that represents all U.S. investor-owned electric companies—where she led advocacy efforts on various policy issues, including appropriations, budget, clean energy technologies, wildfires, and LIHEAP.
She previously served in various roles at the Department of Energy under the 15th U.S. Secretary of Energy, Dan Brouillette. She served as the Deputy Director of the Office of Strategic Planning and Policy, where she spearheaded high-priority energy initiatives for the Secretary and led an interdisciplinary team of experts in shaping long-term, cross-cutting DOE strategies. In addition, Allison was the Director of the National Laboratory Operations Board, where she strengthened the partnership, coordination, and strategic alignment between the DOE and its 17 National Laboratories and served as the liaison to the National Laboratory Directors’ Council.
She also served as the legislative clerk for the Energy and Commerce Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives under Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR).
Allison holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies, both from Florida Gulf Coast University. Allison and her husband live on a historic farm in Maryland with their daughter Poppy, two dogs, and various farm animals.
