The Council submitted public comments to the administration outlining recommendations for the upcoming 2026 joint review of the U.S.-Mexico Canada Agreement. Our analysis indicates that the unique and balanced economic and geological strengths of the U.S., Mexico, and Canada provide a compelling foundation for an ongoing close partnership. In this comment, we explore the benefits of working more closely with our North American partners and lay out a series of policy mechanisms that can turn the USMCA into a compelling platform to scale, diversify, and stabilize critical mineral supply chains.
