May 5, 2026

WASHINGTON, DC – Washingtonian magazine named Climate Leadership Council CEO Greg Bertelsen to its Most Influential People of 2026 list, marking four consecutive years of recognition for shaping key policy conversations in D.C. Greg is included on the Climate & Environment list, which honors professionals who “advocate and promote policies that balance economic growth with our planet’s future.”

Under Greg’s leadership, the Council expanded its impact at the intersection of climate, trade, and energy policy in 2026, advancing solutions that drive meaningful global emissions reductions and support American security, competitiveness, and affordability. He established the Council as the defining voice on America’s carbon advantage; became a go-to resource on international investment and supply chain security; shaped major policy debates such as the reauthorization of the Development Finance Corporation; and advanced first-of-its-kind legislation to support cleaner U.S. manufacturers in international trade.

“Greg has a gift for seeing the full picture—the substance, the strategy, and the relationships—needed to move major policy forward. His work this year advancing legislation, building out new policy research areas, and deepening our networks is a testament to that vision,” said Climate Leadership Council executive vice president and COO, Tiffany Adams

“This honor belongs first and foremost to the Council team, whose expertise and dedication drive everything we accomplish,” said Climate Leadership Council CEO, Greg Bertelsen. “I’d also like to thank the many industry, nonprofit, and government stakeholders who partner with our team and help ground our solutions in real world dynamics. Through them, I see clearly that the U.S. has the resources, innovation, and influence to lead the world in advanced energy technology and low-carbon solutions for decades to come.”
