Statement on the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act

Washington, DC – The Climate Leadership Council’s Director, Policy, Erin Alejandre, issued the following statement in response to the Senate introduction of the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act:

“The Climate Leadership Council is encouraged by progress on the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act. Council analysis projects U.S. electricity demand to grow nearly 60% by 2050, and meeting that demand will require building energy infrastructure faster than our current system allows. Permitting reform is essential to keep pace with the demands of a modern economy, and the energy infrastructure it unlocks is what drives clean energy deployment and innovation. CLC looks forward to continued engagement with stakeholders and policymakers as the bill moves forward.”
